Is DIY Bridal Makeup a New Trend? | Kate Middleton Will Apply Her Own Makeup for Her Wedding!
Hi Guys!!! Kate is a DIY girl!!!!!
According to Fashionetc.com, Kate Middleton will be doing her OWN makeup on her wedding day. She has been taking makeup lessons by makeup artist Arabella Preston.
With some of the makeup trends being bold lips, and metallic eyeshadow, I am really curious to see if Kate Middleton will be sporting something more glamourous on the most important day of her life! I would love to see her in a subtle, smokey eye with a little more lip color than her everyday look.
Is “Do It Yourself Makeup” (DIY) becoming a new bridal trend? If so, here are my bridal tips and suggestions for Kate and any other bride out there!
1. Invest in Brushes. If you havent invested in tools already, it is a MUST to get a few great eyeshadow brushes you feel comfortable with using. Tune in to my brush tutorials here to help you with the application process.
2. Baby Your Skin. Drink lots of water, and stay hydrated. Dont forget to use a good eyecream both on your lids and underneath the eyes. It’s also very helpful to get a facial a few weeks before the wedding day. You dont want to get a facial too close to the day just in case you have any breakouts.
3. Choose Your Best Feature, and Find Inspiration. Weather it’s your cheeks, eyes or lips, by focusing on one feature, it will allow you to be able to balance out your makeup look with the appropriate color choices. Look online or in magazines for inspiration and color palettes that you are drawn too.
4. Foundation, Foundation, Foundation. Now, there are so many foundation choices out there!!! There are even “at home” airbrush, foundation systems. Find a good foundation to give you great coverage. It is key for great wedding photos! Stores like Sephora are pretty generous about letting you try samples.
5. Take Photos and Practice! Keep your camera handy! Take as many pictures of your makeup look, as needed, in order to get the look you want for your wedding day. It’s a great way to see if you need to add a little bit of this or that. Most brides find that the makeup that looks great in the photos looks a little on the heavy side not in the photo, especially with blush. Keep practicing the look on yourself until you feel 100% comfortable in application. This way, you will be totally confident and stress free in applying it on Wedding Day!!!
Here is one of my favorite looks!!! I LOVE this lip color and think its perfect for Kate and any bride to be!!! I used Stila Long Wear Lip Liner in Charming ($18). I lined my lips and filled them in with the same color. Next, I used Motives Lipstick in Nude and topped it off with Sally Hanson’s Lip Inflation to give my lips a nice kissable pout!
Do you think Kate will sport a more bold lip? Do you think she should go a little more glamourous?
