My New Found Love for Matte Makeup!

I am back from vacation and for a little inspiration this week to get me back into the groove of things, I headed over to Sephora to see what was new for Summer. Being in Florida, reminded me of how the warmer weather is fast approaching as I found my makeup would just melt away into the Summer air! A few of my discoveries at Sephora were: Nars Matte Lipstick in Carthage and Dior Foundation.
Since, I am more of a lipstick girl than lip gloss, I wanted to find a shade that would stay put, be bold and colorful,yet still make me feel glamorous! I fell in LOVE with the Pure Matte Lipstick from Nars ($25). Carthage is the new shade from their Summer Collection. It’s gorgeous! The texture is amazingly creamy and it provides a long wear without drying out the lips. This matte lip color gives a great, modern, fresh, yet glam look for day or night. If you want to “trend” this look, it is best paired with liquid or gel based eyeliner with the “cat eye” technique.

Another great discovery, was the Airflash Spray Foundation ($60) by Dior. Not only does this give a great matte finish, but it’s green tea extracts make it feel wonderful on the skin! It gives a nice 
cool, soothing effect! Perfect for Summer! The spray technology allows it to feel lightweight on the skin. It’s medium to full coverage is perfect for braving the Summer heat, and matte texture helps with oil control.
I will say Airflash is quite expensive for a foundation, however, if foundation is a number one concern of yours, it is worth taking a trip to the Dior counter and trying it out!!! Sometimes, you do get what you pay for!
